Back in April we heard rumors that the innovative PS3 title launching mid-October, LittleBigPlanet, would also become portable on the PSP. Today, it was discovered that SCEE has begun recruitment for the position of “PSP Game Engine Lead.” The job is desribed as “responsibility for the design and implementation of key game components,” and “the development of exciting new LittleBigPlanet projects.” What does this mean? Possibly a connective integration of the PS3 and PSP, or a complete handheld version of LittleBigPlanet?
[UPDATE!] LittleBigPlanet’s boss, Mark Healy, revealed to Eurogamer.TV his vision for a PSP version of the quirky platformer, LittleBigPlanet. Healy told Eurogamer in an exclusive interview, “There’s definitely scope for a PSP version, we’ve had discussions and talks, [but] nothing concrete at the moment.” Now if that is exciting for you, I don’t know what can. Healy also discussed that spin-off products could be produced externally of Media Molecule.

Too bad PSP spinoffs of PS3 games aren’t included FREE with the purchase of the real game. “Ok boys, we’re going to take this awesome PS3 game, tone it down, remove all the flash and sell it again.”
