
It wasn’t too long ago sicne Sony announced Patapon 2 was in development, and when they did announce it, it was very few months after Patapon 1 released. The addicting rhythms and graphics took gamers by surprised but became a favorite amongst the media and a lot of owners. Today, we are revealing new details about the story of Patapon 2, new additional PATAPONS, a new PATAPON army, multiplayer, new content, and new features added to gameplay.’
When entering Fever Mode, Hero Mode is also entered into. Most important to us, save data from the previous game can be used to continue Patapon 2. Lastly, two new types of rhythms are being added. Oh and let’s not forget, Patapon 2 also supports Game Sharing.
Story

Patapon 2 “Donchaka” takes place right after the original game. After the war against Zigaton, the Patapon build a ship to cross the sea and look for the end of the world. However, the ship sank under attack from unknown enemies and the Patapons were separated from each other.
New Patapons

[Unclear at the moment] Up to 16 Patapons were added, and they all have three stages of growth. Aerial, Magic and Robot Patapons are shown above. Aerial Patapon’s will be able to fly and take part in aerial attacks. The next section will details one of the 16 new Patapons.
Hero Patapon
A new fourth unit army is added. Hero Patapon is a special type of Patapon that players can customize their armors, ability upgrades and job switch. It can even unleash a special move when entering Fever mode.
Egg Collection
When in single player mode, players can collect special items, which are eggs. There are around 30 types of eggs with different levels of rarity in the game. These eggs can then be used in the multiplayer mode.
Multiplayer
There are Mission and Carnival mode in multiplayer play. In Mission mode, players and their partners are required in helping out each other to move a giant egg to a certain spot using the ‘PATA” and “PON” rhythm so well-known from the first Patapon. In the mini game mode of Carnival mode, players input buttons to match the on-screen commands (”PATA” “PON”). Screenshots of these two modes are shown above, the first being Mission Mode, and the second being Carnival Mode.
New Content
The content of the game is doubled compared to the first game. There will be more than 60 levels (up from 37), 22 characters (up from 11), 384 items (up from 187), and 7 mini games (up from 5). It will takes around 20 hours to finish the game, the first one took about 11 hours from our time spent with Patapon 1.
